The members’ area is updated with new research articles, and general interest articles to ensure members are kept up to date. Members can discuss various topics of interest with other students and instructors via our online forum.
Your certificate can be used to show that you are aware of the latest information in regards to infant massage. When enquiries come through to the IMIS office from parents or organisations looking for individuals with infant massage training, we recommend that they request to see a qualifying certificate and a certificate of current membership to ensure that you are up to date with current techniques and recommendations.
When clinics, parents or organisations contact us to locate someone who is trained to work with parents and demonstrate massage techniques, we can provide referrals to you if you wish. Once you have completed your training a form will be provided which asks if you would like your contact information to be made available.
IMIS offers ongoing to support to instructors and consultants once they are working and utilising their baby massage qualification.
We feel that it is important for instructors to be able to contact a trainer to discuss questions, recommendations, ideas, or concerns whilst they are working in the industry.
Types of Membership:
This category is open to qualified Infant Massage Instructors, Paediatric Massage Consultants and health staff holding a certificate in Basic massage demonstration and any certificate 2 level qualification (qualifications available to health and child industry workers).
This category is open to members holding a Paediatric Massage Consultant qualification. This is the highest level of membership available and indicates that the member can give presentations to professional groups within the realms of the PMC qualification in addition to working with parents.
This category is open to students who are currently completing their training. Students can move to professional or fellow level membership status upon certification. Student members are not required to pay the full, professional membership fee of $150, but only the difference in cost between student membership and professional level membership as an upgrade fee of $84 if wanting to progress from student to professional level membership following training.
This category is open to students who have not completed certification within their enrolment period, and to instructors, consultants and demonstrators who would like to continue having access to the members site or newsletter but who may not be teaching during the relevant member year.
